With over 25 years of experience in the food and hospitality management sector and a passion for personally and professionally advancing individuals and teams, Rory has developed a unique set of entrepreneurial skills to quickly consolidate and scale businesses. In-depth knowledge of Finance, Marketing, Sales, and People Management, makes Rory a resilient leader, coach, and mentor on all fronts of his businesses. He started his career in a national franchise and quickly worked his way up to many senior leadership roles. This experience gave him a good insight into the food industry, from dealing with customers at the shop front to managing a business in terms of people, processes, finance, IT, and administration. Particularly, Rory learned the importance of professional systems and processes to manage and scale a business. In 2000, Rory left the franchise business to manage his family’s transport business. This allowed him to consolidate many business and management skills, proving that business fundamentals remain the same whether "you make socks or locomotives." Rory branched out from the transport business in 2003 to fulfill his entrepreneurial aspirations and created two new catering businesses: Rory's School Lunches, providing canteen management services to 54 government, independent and catholic schools in South Australia. Rory's Catering Co., a private catering business servicing schools, universities, local government, and businesses across Adelaide.
